Cellulite Treatments at Xanadu Med Spa
Cellfina Cellulite Treatment
Cellulite forms when the connective tissue beneath the skin pulls on the skin. Also known as the fibrous brand, the tight bands pull down on the skin, which adds to the dimpled appearance of cellulite. In fact, adult women are more likely to have vertical connective tissue, which increases the likelihood of moderate-to-severe cellulite forming on the top layers of the skin.
Cellfina uses an advanced anti-cellulite procedure referred to as subcision, a method that uses a micro-blade to reduce cellulite. A small needle-sized device is injected into the skin to break up the connective bands, which are the main culprit behind the formation of cellulite.
What to Expect with Cellfina Treatment
First, a licensed esthetician will mark the treatment area and apply numbing cream or local anesthesia to help prevent pain and discomfort before treatment begins.
Once the area is numb, the Cellfina device is applied to the treatment area, and the machine gets to work at breaking down the fibrous bands.
The Cellfina cellulite reduction treatment causes little pain and discomfort due to the use of local anesthesia. If you have any concerns about the treatment, don’t hesitate to speak to a member of our team during your initial consultation.
What Is the Expected Recovery Time?
Cellfina is a minimally invasive treatment that can treat cellulite that appears on the surface of the skin. Developed in 2015, the treatment holds the longest FDA-cleared duration for a cellulite reduction treatment.
The treatment requires little to no downtime, however, reducing cellulite using this procedure can cause some redness and swelling to appear soon after the procedure is over. Some patients experience initial soreness in the treatment area. Nevertheless, this is normally temporary and can be dealt with over-the-counter pain relief medication.
Although this treatment requires limited downtime, we recommend patients take it easy soon after undergoing treatment. Avoiding exercise or other physical exertions is recommended for up to 24 hours after the procedure is over.
QWO Cellulite Treatment
QWO is an injectable anti-cellulite treatment that reduces the appearance of dimples and fatty tissue on the skin.
In comparison to Cellfina, which uses needles to break down the connective tissue under the skin, QWO injections use enzymes called collagenase that help break down the cellulite-causing bands as well as fat cells beneath the skin.
Not only do the collagenase enzymes break down the fibrous bands, but they also promote the appearance of smoother skin and promote tissue tightening.
What to Expect with QWO
Injections are administered directly into the dimpled areas to tackle the root cause of cellulite, so the treatment is both effective and precise.
At Xanadu Med Spa, all of our estheticians are fully licensed and experienced experts in cellulite removal treatments.
Our staff are rigorously trained to ensure treatments are as comfortable and easy as possible for our clients, so you can rest assured that you’re in capable hands.
What Is the Expected Recovery Time?
Unlike other cellulite treatments, there is no recovery time necessary after the QWO treatment. The treated skin may be slightly sore close to the injection site, however, this soreness usually fades after a few hours.
Some patients experience bruising close to the injection site, so we recommend bearing this in mind if you have a trip planned to the beach or swimming pool in the near future.
If you experience serious side effects, including an infection or an allergic reaction after undergoing this treatment, seek medical assistance straight away.
Am I Eligible For Cellulite Reduction Treatment?
As the procedure helps to eliminate fat cells and break down cellulite-causing bands, Cellfina is a great treatment for cellulite reduction. The cellulite treatment is FDA approved and safe to use. However, we don’t recommend the use of Cellfina as a cellulite treatment if:
