It is incredibly tolerated, with most patients rating it at only a 3 or 4 out of 10 on a pain scale. We use a highly concentrated topical anesthetic that further ensures the discomfort is reduced and the procedure is easily managed.
You may experience some minor redness (much like a sunburn) and swelling for a few days, but nothing that would prohibit you from returning to your normal routine. A few days later you will notice dry and flaky skin similar to what one experiences from a chemical peel. That can generally be controlled with regular application of a good moisturizer. We will provide you with a post care kit and discuss what products to either use or avoid. Note: Sunscreen will be incredibly important for weeks following the procedure as you will be highly susceptible to sun burn.
