What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting® applies cold to targeted areas to kill fat cells. The dead fat cells are then naturally removed by the body. The remaining fat condenses, resulting in a thinner look with fewer fat bulges.
Fat cells die when exposed to cold temperatures. This method is very safe and gentle on the body, especially when compared to traditional fat reduction methods such as surgical liposuction.
How Does CoolSculpting Eliminate Fat Cells?
When the temperature of your body’s fat cells reaches around 40 degrees, they die without causing harm to the surrounding tissues.
This works through a method called Cryolipolysis, which means “fat freezing.” Frozen fat cells go through a process called apoptosis, a natural process where they die off and are consumed by white blood cells, before being filtered, and processed by the body.
What Results Can I Expect?
The CoolSculpting procedure results in around a 20% reduction in fat cells at the treatment site. It then takes around two to four months for the full results to be visible.
There is no downtime and no needles, surgery, or anesthesia, making this procedure non-invasive and very safe.
Clinical findings on the effectiveness of CoolSculpting treatments were published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, reporting “Caliper measurements demonstrated 23% reduction in fat layer thickness at 3 months.”
Assessments of CoolSculpting before and after pictures concluded “86% of subjects” showed improvements, and patient surveys revealed, “82% of patients would recommend the procedure to a friend.”
CoolSculpting® is a long-term solution to eliminate areas of stubborn fat. So as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle, the results should last.
